TEST MATCHES

Europe v Asia

An inaugural Test Match between teams representing Europe and Asia was played in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia in July 2003.


The Second Europe v. Asia Test Match took place at Winchmore Hill Bowling Club, Winchmore Hill, London, England over four days in July 2005.
Each team consisted of six men and six women bowlers, all of whom played games of singles, pairs, triples and fours over sixteen sessions of play, starting at 09.00 hrs each day.

The team to represent Asia was selected by the Asian Lawn Bowls Federation following the conclusion of the 2005 Asian Bowls Championships.

The four umpires appointed by the English Bowls Umpires Association who officiated at this international event were :

John Cope, David Rice, Vic Perry and Allan Thornhill.

Seventh European Team Bowls Championships

The Seventh Team Championships are to be held at Athena Beach, Pafos, Cyprus over six days in February 2009.

It is hoped all thirteen members of the EBU will send a team to compete in these championships and, if so, a 14th team, European Select will be invited to participate so that two groups of seven teams would take part.

Teams are to consist of two women and two men bowlers, all of whom will play six games of singles and six games of mixed pairs.
