Welcome to the home page of the European Bowls Union whose principal aim is to promote, foster and develop the sport of lawn bowls throughout Europe. Every 2 years we hold the European Team Championships, "the friendly games!", which brings men and women throughout Europe together, to compete and celebrate our great sport.
The Eighth European Team Bowls Championships was held in Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal in November 2011 with teams competing in men's and ladies pairs and mixed fours.
After a week of intense competition the Welsh team of Lisa Forey, Caroline Taylor, David Harding and Marc Wyatt lifted the team trophy. The magnificent trophy was presented to Acting Team Manager Gill Hughes by EBU President Eddie Williams. Congratulations to all the players taking part who made the Eighth European Team Championships such a success and a special mention to Portugal for their hospitality and organisational skills in hosting such a magnificent tournament.
The Ninth European Team Bowls Championships will be hosted by Spain in September 2013. Full details will be posted on our News page as they become available.
